Job Summary:
The Backing Vocalist will be responsible for providing exceptional vocal support and harmonies to enhance live music performances. They will work closely with the lead vocalist, band members, and musical director to deliver outstanding vocal arrangements and contribute to the overall sound and quality of the musical production.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the lead vocalist and musical director to develop and perform vocal parts, harmonies, and arrangements that complement the musical style and production requirements.
2. Demonstrate mastery of vocal techniques, including breath control, pitch accuracy, tone quality, and dynamic control.
3. Attend rehearsals and actively participate in vocal warm-ups, sectionals, and full ensemble practices to ensure the highest level of performance.
4. Maintain a consistent and professional stage presence, engaging with the audience and contributing to the overall entertainment value of the performance.
5. Learn and memorize vocal parts, lyrics, and musical cues to ensure precision and accuracy during live performances.
6. Adapt vocal performances to suit different musical genres, styles, and production requirements.
7. Collaborate with the musical director and other band members to create vocal harmonies that blend seamlessly with other instruments and vocalists.
8. Follow instructions and direction provided by the musical director, making necessary adjustments to vocal performance as directed.
9. Demonstrate versatility in vocal range, timbre, and style to meet the demands of various musical productions or arrangements.
10. Maintain a professional attitude and work ethic, adhering to all performance schedules, deadlines, and protocols established by the musical director or production team.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Proven experience as a backing vocalist in live music performances or studio recordings.
2. Exceptional vocal skills with the ability to harmonize accurately and consistently.
3. Strong knowledge of vocal techniques, including breath control, pitch accuracy, and dynamic control.
4. Ability to quickly learn and memorize vocal parts, lyrics, and musical cues.
5. Comfortable performing a variety of musical genres and styles, adapting vocal performance as required.
6. Excellent stage presence and the ability to engage with an audience.
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
8. Flexibility to adapt to changing music arrangements or production requirements.
9. Reliable and punctual, with the ability to meet performance schedules and deadlines.
